RACING TEAM TURKEY WITH TF SPORT CROWNED 2022 EUROPEAN LE MANS SERIES LMP2 PRO AM CHAMPIONS

Overall pole and class victory at the 4 Hours of Portimão was the icing on the cake for the #34 crew of Salih Yoluç, Charlie Eastwood and Jack Aitken. With a helping hand from Will Stevens at Spa-Francorchamps, the Turkish LMP2 entry scored an overall pole position, four class wins, a second place and a fourth position over the six races, to take the Pro Am honours by 30 points over rivals AF Corse. With Jack only missing out on the 25 points for the win at Spa, Aitken finished second in the LMP2 Pro Am standings. The #69 Oman Racing with TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage GTE took another hard-fought podium finish to round off their season. Ahmad Al Harthy, Sam De Haan and Marco Sørensen battled hard through ever-changing conditions to take the flag in P2 and secure fifth in the LMGTE championship. It was a heartbreaking end to the season for the sister car, #95, as a wayward Inter Europol LMP3 collided into the side of the Vantage GTE, taking John Hartshorne out of the race. Hugely disappointing for Hartshorne, Jonny Adam and Henrique Chaves after a strong run throughout the four-hour battle. #95 ended the season in the top-10 LMGTE teams. The TF Sport crew have one final race left in 2022, the World Endurance Championship finale at Bahrain International Circuit on November 12.
Tom Ferrier, TF Sport Managing Director - "It's a huge testament to how hard the crew and drivers have worked all season, that not only did we just need to finish the race to secure the LMP2 Pro Am title, but we were able to claim a championship 1-2! It was great to have Ahmad, Sam and Marco return to the GTE podium again, but such a shame for John's season to end in the way it did, especially with how well he has progressed this year."
Jack Aitken, #34 Gold Driver - "The first half of my stint was pretty chaotic, because of the constantly changing weather conditions, so it was more about managing that situation than focussing on the race result, as we knew all we had to do was finish. We tried to keep the pace high without taking too many risks! Towards the end of the race when we found ourselves at the front of the Pro Am class, we just knew we needed to bring it home!"
Ahmad Al Harthy, #69 Bronze Driver - "Once again it is an honour to fly the Omani flag on the podium of the European Le Mans Series. Luck had not been on our side since our win at Imola and it was great to end the season by stepping onto the podium again with Sam and Marco."
Jonny Adam, #95 Platinum Driver - "It was a tough race day. Not the ending we wanted - or that the team deserved - so close to the end, and after such a great weekend and season. The whole team, John and Henrique have been fantastic all season, and it has been a great year overall. Huge thank you to TF Sport and Aston Martin Racing for an amazing effort all season, and huge congratulations to the sister car for the podium today, and to the #34 Racing Team Turkey crew for the win and the Pro-Am title. Mega effort!"
