TF SPORT AND CORVETTE CLAIM BACK-TO-BACK LMGT3 WINS AS THE #34 Z06 GT3.R TRIUMPHS AT 6 HOURS OF SAO PAULO
TF Sport returned to the top step of the podium in the FIA World Endurance Championship with a superb LMGT3 victory at the Rolex 6 Hours of São Paulo. The team's #34 Corvette Z06 GT3.R, entered as Racing Team Turkey by TF, claimed a well-deserved win after a faultless performance, while the sister #33 Corvette completed a hard-fought race to finish eighth in class.
The #34 Corvette Z06 GT3.R, driven by Charlie Eastwood, Salih Yoluç and Peter Dempsey, delivered an outstanding race at Interlagos to secure its first victory of the season. Thanks to a strong all-round performance from the drivers, the pit crew and the engineers, the car remained in contention throughout the six-hour race before moving into the lead during the closing stages. A well-executed strategy allowed Eastwood to build a comfortable margin in the final part of the race, permitting him to overcome a slow puncture and bring the Corvette home for a memorable LMGT3 victory.
The result marks Corvette's second consecutive LMGT3 victory in the FIA World Endurance Championship, following the #33 Corvette Z06 GT3.R's success at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It also represents the manufacturer's first back-to-back class wins since 2023.
On the other side of the garage, the #33 Corvette Z06 GT3.R of Ben Keating, Nicolás Varrone and Jonny Edgar fought hard from start to finish in another highly competitive LMGT3 field. Despite a challenging race, the trio continued to push throughout the six hours and ultimately crossed the finish line in eighth position, collecting valuable championship points for the team.
In the championship, the #33 Corvette Z06 GT3.R tops the teams’ standings, with Jonny Edgar, Nicky Catsburg and Ben Keating occupying the top three places in the drivers’ standings. Following its victory in Brazil, the #34 car jumps to 4th place in the teams’ standings, with Peter Dempsey, Salih Yoluc and Charlie Eastwood moving up to 6th place in the drivers’ standings.
