Lorcan Hanafin is a young British driver who already has solid experience in motorsport. He began his karting career at club level in the UK in 2012, earning several wins and podiums and later finishing seventh in the Iame Cadet British Karting Championship in 2015. In 2016, he came to prominence with a fourth-place finish in the Minimax category of the British Karting Championship, while in 2017 he reached new levels of success by placing second in the inaugural Clio Cup Junior Championship, earning seven pole positions and three race wins. 2018 saw him take on four races in the Ginetta Junior Championship, earning three podiums in the Rookie category, while the following year he solidified his presence in the championship with a fourth-place finish and two race wins, also reaching the final round of the Porsche Motorsport Great Britain Junior Shootout in the same year. 2020 was a significant year, with the driver finishing fourth in the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain achieving four podiums, two fastest laps in the Pro class, and third place in the Rookie standings. In 2021 he finished on the podium eight times, won four races and took second place in the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain. His outstanding performance led to his being recognized as a BRDC Rising Star in September and being shortlisted for National Driver of the Year by Motorsport News. The year 2022 marked a further leap forward with the title of Rookie Champion in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland and tenth place overall. In the same year he achieved ninth place overall and third in the Rookie standings in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, he also achieved a significant milestone by becoming a full member of the BRDC before his 20th birthday. In 2023, Lorcan took on a new challenge in the European Le Mans Series with the JMW Motorsport team by finishing third in the Catalunya round, but his season reached his peak with the victory in the 3 Hours of Barcelona GTWC Pro-am Cup, confirming his growing expertise in the world of racing. Now, in 2024 Lorcan is ready to begin a new challenge in the ELMS aboard the #97 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 together with TF Sport.
